My Texas Vacation

Here's a quick recap of my activities while vacationing in the fair state of Texas.

Sat, July 5th: Landed in Dallas, picked up by mother and fathership, picked up sister, proceeded to lake condo on Possum Kingdom Lake (yes, that's the real name). Napped, ate, missed the fireworks... whups!

Sun, July 6th: Basted ourselves at the PK pool, 10 short steps from the condo. Took trip around the lake to see the dam and the Lonesome Dove Ranch.

Mon, July 7th: Rented a deck boat, cruised the lake, got stuck in freak rain shower, burned nose.

Tues, July 8th: Went in to Fort Worth to see the Stockyards. Saw a mock cattle drive. Rode longest mini railroad around a park for relaxing end to the day. Not much else to do/see in FW. Returned to PK.

Weds, July 9th: Went to Six Flags Over Texas. Roasted in 100 degree weather. Rode all awesome roller coasters with sister. Ate ice cream. Checked in to Sheraton Suites.

Thurs, July 10th: Saw the Dallas sites including the JFK Memorial, grassy knoll, ate at a bbq joint, saw West End, Arts District, Uptown, Fair Park, largest equestrian sculpture, W Hotel. Went out to downtown Dallas to Obar - basically vacant. Ended up in Uptown, weird Marine dude talked to us.

Fri, July 11th: Hung out at hotel pool. Nice relaxing day. Ate dinner at Craft owned by THE Tom Colicchio (Top Chef judge) in W Hotel. Had drinks at the Ghostbar on 33rd floor.

Sat, July 12th: Gathered Dallas souvenirs and flew out...without luggage. Damn you American Airlines.

Mon, July 14th: Finally received luggage w/o luggage tag. Guess someone REALLY liked my sweet luggage tag. (No, really, it was really cool.) Glad nothing else was stolen, but nothing else of value was in there, thank goodness!
