Weird people renting rooms in San Jose

So I've been keeping my eye out for a room in San Jose and it seems people down there are just ... weird. I thought maybe people in Seattle were the same way, so I checked our ads on Craigslist, and no, it looks like it might be a San Jose thing. Maybe it's because it's a burb? Anyways, some of these ads actually say "no sleepovers". Seriously? Who are you, my mother? Here's a clip from an ad I read today: "If you have a bf or gf, stay overs are allowed only with permission." Permission? Who are these nuts? Do they seriously think they will find an adult to rent a room that wants to ask permission if their bf or gf can stay over? WEIRD. I hope I can find a decent place down there, sheesh!
